All Bran Rusks
You know it’s officially winter when you have to start wearing socks with your slops. 😆
These All Bran Rusks, baked with Natura Sugars Soft Light Brown Sugar, are perfect with a hot cup of tea, coffee or milo. How do you like to eat your rusks, crunchy or dunked?
INGREDIENTS
Butter 250g
Buttermilk 250g
Natura Sugars Soft Light Brown Sugar 350g
Eggs 2 large
Self-Raising Flour 500g
Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
Salt 1 teaspoon
All Bran Flakes 250g
METHOD
Place the butter and Natura Sugars Soft Light Brown Sugar in a saucepan on a medium heat and melt together, make sure that it doesn’t boil, then pour into a mixing bowl.
Add the buttermilk and eggs to the melted butter and sugar and beat well. Sift in the flour, baking powder and salt and mix well. Add in the all bran flakes and mix until combined. Divide into three greased and floured bread tins.
Bake at 160°C for 60 minutes.
Allow to cool completely, then cut into slices.
Dry out in the oven at 100°C for 2½ hours. Remove from the oven and place on a cooling tray to cool completely.
