Sweet Chilli Bread

Sweet Chilli and Cheese Pull Apart Bread.

One of my favourite breads to make. Great for a shareable side dish or as a light meal, with it’s sticky and cheesy filling.

INGREDIENTS

White Bread Flour 500g
Salt 1 teaspoon
Sugar 2 teaspoons
Dried Yeast 5g
Water 250ml
Olive Oil 50ml
Sweet Chilli Sauce
Cheddar Cheese

METHOD

Place flour, salt, sugar and yeast in a bowl, keeping the yeast on the opposite side to the salt. Mix together and make a well in the middle, pour in the water and olive oil and mix until a dough forms. Remove from the bowl and knead well for 10 minutes on a lightly floured surface. Form a ball, and place in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with cling wrap and leave in a warm spot to rise for an hour.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough roughly 5mm thick into a rectangle about 550mm x 300mm. Add a generous layer of sweet chilli sauce, then top with grated cheddar cheese. Roll up from the narrow end, and cut into 12 even slices. Place four rows of three slices in a baking tray lined with baking paper. Cover with cling wrap and leave to rise for 30 minutes.

Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes.
