Vampire Bites
These Vampire Bites, strawberry jam turnovers, are simple and fun for Halloween made using only four ingredients.
INGREDIENTS
Puff Pastry 1 roll
Smooth Strawberry Jam 1 tin
Egg 1
Caster Sugar for sprinkling
METHOD
Unroll the puff pastry and cut into eight even pieces. Using a large round piping nozzle, cut out two circles from the top right quarter of each piece to resemble fang bite marks, don’t go too close to the edge. Place a spoonful of strawberry jam in the centre of each piece of puff pastry then fold over and seal the edges with a fork. Brush with beaten egg and dust with caster sugar.
Bake at 190˚C for 25 minutes, until golden.
Remove from the oven and dust with more caster sugar, then pipe strawberry jam into the holes and over the edge in two lines to resemble blood dripping from the fang bites.
