Easter Bunny Ears
An Easter twist on Palmiers, also known as Pig’s Ears.
Delicious cinnamon and sugar puff pastry treats that are quick and easy to make.
INGREDIENTS
Puff Pastry 1 roll (400g)
Brown Sugar to taste
Ground Cinnamon to taste
Egg 1 large
Icing Sugar for sprinkling
Ground Cinnamon for sprinkling
METHOD
Cut strips of puff pastry approximately 320mm x 25mm and 100mm x 25mm, you should get about 8 of each size out of one roll.
Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over the strips of puff pastry. Roll the smaller strip up and place in the centre of the large strip, then fold over the edges of the large strip to meet the centre roll. Bring the folded ends around the centre roll and pinch at the top just above the centre roll, then space the ears slightly apart.
Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush with a beaten egg and sprinkle extra brown sugar over the top.
Bake at 190°C for 20 minutes.
Once cool, sprinkle icing sugar and cinnamon over the top.
