Apple Crumble

Apples with butter, brown sugar and cinnamon, baked with a crumble topping, dusted with icing sugar and cinnamon. Made with Kerrygold Irish Butter.

INGREDIENTS

Apples 1.5kg
Kerrygold Irish Butter 50g
Brown Sugar
60g
Ground Cinnamon 1 teaspoon

Cake Flour 150g
Kerrygold Irish Butter 100g
Brown Sugar
100g

Icing Sugar for dusting
Cinnamon for dusting

METHOD

Peel, core and chop apples into approximately 15mm cubes. and place in a pot together with the Kerrygold butter, brown sugar and cinnamon. Cook on a medium to high heat for approximately 10 minutes.

To make the crumble, place the flour, Kerrygold butter and brown sugar in a bowl and rub together with your fingertips until it comes together, then crumble it to keep it rough and clumpy.

Remove the apples from the heat and place into an oven proof dish, then top with the crumble.  

Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes.

Remove from the oven and dust generously with icing sugar and cinnamon.
